Identity in the Browser takes a BIG step forward

In the last few months, Vidoop Labs has been having a lot of conversations.  And today we are very happy to announce the fruits of one.  OpenID for Flock, jointly developed by Flock, Vidoop, and MySpace has launched.  OpenID for Flock is based on the Vidoop Labs project, Identity in the Browser (IDIB).  You can download it here.  We’ve talked a lot about the thinking on this project from a usability perspective and from a security perspective.  We are very excited to have had the opportunity to work with companies like Flock and MySpace to bring this kind of OpenID usability and functionality to the web.  I believe it is another great step towards making the open web happen in a secure, usable way.   Just imagine the day when your favorite browser securely handles everything related to usernames/passwords (Identity) for you behind the scenes.  It’s coming…
