Update: Spammers ramp up siege on Google’s Blogger via bots
· Spammers are increasingly using automated methods to create fake pages on Google Blogs, highlighting the ineffectiveness of the CAPTCHA system intended to stop the mass registration accounts, according to Websense.· There has been rapid rise in accounts used for spam on the free email services of Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft.
· The instructions the spammers are giving computers to compromise a PC and create a spamming account request an external host that solves CAPTCHA and sends the answer back to the PC.
· This has an 8 to 13% success rate.
