Your New OpenID Profit Center!

Back in April when we launched our company at the Web 2.0 Expo, we made the statement that we intended to share advertising revenue with OpenID enabled Relying Parties. Thanks to our many advertising partners, we are excited to announce that on January 1, 2008 we will begin paying members of the Vidoop Affiliates Program for every authentication transaction directed through myVidoop.com. We will begin paying 1/100 of a cent for each authentication transaction. At that rate, a site that has 5,000 daily logins would earn roughly $15 dollars a month. Where a larger site with 100,000 daily logins might earn $300 a month, or 1 million daily logins would earn $3,000 dollars, a hundred million logins would earn $300,000 a month and so on. In time, we intend to increase the amount paid per authentication transaction as we work to spin up our advertising platform.

Additionally, for every myVidoop affiliate enrolled before the end of the year (this includes all current affiliates), we will pay a $100 dollar bonus on your first $50 dollars earned. And an additional $100 dollars for the first 500 users signed up through myVidoop.

We are grateful for all of the feedback from our current affiliates and users. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you.

Sincerely,

Luke & Joel & the Vidoop team

[...] Check out myVidoop.com  There, I said it. Vidoop is a new OpenID provider, and they helped sponsor this camp (as well as SixDegrees and others).  OK, so I have to thank Sam from Vidoop for putting up with my noob questions and explaining some of the more tricky use cases for me.  And Vidoop has one (of several) interesting business model(s) - they don’t use passwords for your account login; instead, it’s categories of images that you choose as your recognizable set.  For hosted services (including their new deal with AOL), the other images that are not part of your set can be branded - AOL, or whatever.  Yes, that makes no sense until you set up an account and see how it works - then read their blog post.
