AT&T Invests $1Billion in Global Networks

· AT&T will spend $1 billion to push its new enterprise access and utility computing services internationally.· The money will go to a new undersea cable to Japan and Asia, investments in cables running to the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, and the Middle East.

· It plans to add DSL service in four countries, enhanced Ethernet in 14 cities, and 180,000 square feet to its 38 existing data centers worldwide.

· PredictAd offers auto complete functionality for search boxes with an added twist: monetizable real estate.· PredictAd injects contextual advertising into the search box with ads or text that change dynamically as users type out their search queries.

WordPress Will Introduce BuddyPress

· BuddyPress is a social networking feature for the WordPress blog.· The feature will allow users to create niche networks straight from their WordPress blogging software.

· It builds on WordPress’s platform giving users a way to create their own member home pages, so they don’t have to maintain blogs.

AOL’s Open AIM 2.0

· AOL is now embracing different IM services giving them unfettered access.

· AOL is also saying that they will be giving partners who build software on top of AIM the option to run AOL-served advertisements with a revenue share.

Google Adds Page Load Time To Quality Score Algorithm

· Google has added an additional quality score factor to the AdWords ranking algorithm.· The new factor is page load time.

· If your destination URL is a very slow loading page, then Google gives a poor “load time” grade.

· The “load time” score will be part of your quality score and impact your AdWords ranking.

Google Offering Search within Search

· Google has added search boxes within their search results.· The new service is restricted to larger sites that are geared toward retail

· Borders, BestBuy and OfficeMax, Wikipedia, and the NY Times all offer the secondary box.
